Frequently Asked Questions
You will need to carry a light pack with your camara, water and a couple of snacks, lunch and possibly a rain jacket (when necessary). Our support vehicle carries all gear, including luggage. Our tour leaders always carry emergency supplies, tools and water purrifiers, in addition our trip leaders carry PLBs (personal locating beacons) in case an emergency may arise. Our trip leaders are extensively trained in wilderness first aid and CPR, bicycle handling and mechanical skills ensuring guest safety in the backcountry. You should count on being in Anchorage, Alaska the
night before your tour. All tours leave at 9am from your hotel of choice
in Anchorage. If you’re not sure which trip is right for you, or what your ability level is, give us a call and we can go over the details of each trip. Our trip leaders prepare all the food on our camping trips, starting with lunch on the first day through lunch on the last day. On our road tour, our guides will prepare fresh and delicious lunches each day. Most dinners and breakfasts will be at local restaurants. Please see your specific itinerary for details. Expect to eat only freshly prepared foods at each meal. We eat three meals a day and always have fresh vegetables and fruit available. If you have special diet requirements, we can accommodate with prior notice. Vegans and vegetarians are no problem. What is your cancellation policy?
We do not require a deposit although all trips must be paid in full 60 days prior to the date of the trip. Cancellation 60-30 days prior to your trip will Incur a $50 handling fee (multi-day trips only). Cancellation 29-14 days will incur 50% of trip price. Cancellation 13-0 days will incur 100% of trip price. However if we have a waiting list a cancellation at anytime will only incur a $50 handling fee. Should I purchase cancellation insurance? As we always hope for the best and don’t expect things to go wrong, cancellation insurance is always a good choice. Therefore, we do recommend purchasing cancellation insurance for your Alaskan adventure. Please call our office for more information on companies that offer this type of insurance. We offer camping and cabin facilities at our base camp along the Kenai River. Ammenities include rest rooms and hot showers for our guests each night. Can I rent or should I bring my own
bike? We offer high-end Kona hard tail cross country bikes. However, if you want to bring your own bike you can UPS your bike to our shop so that it can be assembled and ready for your trip. What gear should I bring for my trip? Once you reserve your trip dates we will send you a reservation packet which includes a gear list.
